Private Christian education is the centerpiece to the CVI community transformation strategy.
Why? CVI has observed and seen first-hand that the public education system in Ecuador and Latin America doesn’t work. As such, CVI believes that Child Sponsorship programs that utilize a strategy that utilized the public school system with after school reinforcement and Bible classes as a means to transform the lives of the child and his family is not an optimal strategy. CVI therefore believes that accessible, affordable and quality education is a requirement for sustainable community transformation. See “Toward a Blueprint for a Model Christian School as an Integral Component in Community Transformation”.
CVI also believes that a Christian private school is one of the most strategic ways to reach families and the community as a whole with the Gospel – an ongoing sustainable program in which children are directly impacted with Biblical teaching and see it modeled in the School staff. Parents of these children are impacted as they see their children receiving a quality of education that is unheard of and would never be available through the public school system. CVI believes that excellence coupled with a clear presentation and demonstration of the Gospel is the proper way to address community transformation.
